James Krainock

James Krainock is living a storied career of over 20 years in cybersecurity specializing in digital forensic investigations and infosec critical incident management in the public and private sectors. As a leader, investigator, subject matter expert and educator, Mr. Krainock has worked to advance investigative techniques and technology in cybersecurity for industry, law enforcement, military and government agencies worldwide. He has conducted and led hundreds of cyber intrusion and information security investigations for small to midsize businesses to the Fortune 500, and has instructed many domestic and foreign government agencies.

Mr. Krainock currently works for Amazon as an Industry Specialist in Threat Operations. He holds a masters level industry certification in Law of Data Security and Investigations as well as several technical certifications in various cybersecurity disciplines. Absent an advanced academic degree of his own, he is an active advocate for pursuing higher education available in all its various forms.

James grew up in Mesa Arizona, the youngest of 8 children raised by hard working and loving parents to which he credits for nurturing his talents and interests. Outside of work, he can be found outdoors; hunting, fishing, skiing, endurance running, or coaching baseball. He and his wife, Shannon, live in Rexburg, Idaho and together enjoy world travel and beach getaways. They have 3 children, and two grandchildren.
