David grew up in Mesa, Arizona, and Sandpoint, Idaho, and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Concepcion, Chile. He studied elementary education at BYU, and spent the first several years of his career as an elementary teacher and administrator in Alpine School District in Utah. He earned an M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from BYU. For the last several years he has worked as the director of the BYU School Leadership Graduate Program, preparing future school and district leaders. He LOVES working with aspiring teachers and leaders. David and his wife, Sherrie, have five amazing children and live in Pleasant Grove, Utah. In his free time, David enjoys running, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, basketball, singing, storytelling, traveling, and hanging out with his family.
